Bio: Edgar Tifo PR.Eng (M.Eng)

With over 16 years of experience in the energy and chemical sectors, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and international exposure to technology development and commercialization. My career began at Sasol in 2007 as a bursar graduate, where I spent 11 formative years gaining deep experience across Front-End Loading (FEL) phases and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) execution. This foundation has given me a holistic understanding of the full project lifecycle and the critical link between technology development, commercialization, and strategic business objectives.

Industry Experience

  • Technology Commercialization & Strategic Development
Extensive involvement in translating innovative technologies into commercially viable solutions, balancing technical feasibility with market and sustainability imperatives.
  • Project Execution Expertise
Nearly one-third of my career focused on front-end development and two-thirds on EPC phases, ensuring a strong grasp of both conceptual design and large-scale implementation.
  • Global Exposure & Multicultural Collaboration
Professional experience across South Africa, United States, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Italy, working with multinational corporations and diverse teams on complex engineering and technology projects.
  • Leadership in Emerging Energy Solutions
Previously led initiatives in low-carbon energy solutions within Sasol’s Environmental Sustainability and Strategy division, driving innovation aligned with global decarbonization goals.
Currently, I am conducting detailed assessments of strategic resources for a multinational energy and chemicals corporation, enhancing strategic value by identifying the best investment opportunities and guiding strategic resource assessments to support long-term growth and sustainability.
